Buckeye Union High School District maintains high expectations for
parental involvement to ensure parents are an integral part of our Professional
Learning Community. Meaningful involvement of parents, families, and
the local community are encouraged through the institution of Site Councils. Open
houses and parent-teacher conferences are forums where parents and teachers
are seen as partners and parents are empowered to take an active part
in the school’s decision –making process.
Buckeye Union High School District will assist parents in understanding:
- The State ’s Articulated Academic Content Standards;
- State and local assessments;
- How to monitor student progress;
- The school’s progress toward improvement efforts;
- How parents can participate in decisions regarding the education
of their children; and
- The various school activities offered through newsletters,
phone calls, web site postings, e-mail and other media.
To the extent possible, BUHSD will make every effort to provide information
in a format and language parents can understand. The district values
the role that parents play as their student’s primary teacher and the
importance of parental support in promoting high academic achievement and school
performance.
