Vision Statement

The vision of the Buckeye Academy is to empower students to achieve academic success in an alternative environment with unique opportunities and challenges.

Program Overview

The Buckeye Academy is designed to provide quality education to Buckeye Union High School District students who need learning resources other than those provided at the traditional district campus. Enrolling in the Academy requires parental agreement and endorsement by the Alternative School Director and a Buckeye High School Administrator. Traditional graduation requirements will be accomplished through the Advanced Learning System (A+) software and off-line assignments. An individualized self-paced learning model will be utilized affording students the opportunity to gain credits as rapidly as they demonstrate proficiency. Additional educational strategies will be fashioned utilizing flexible teaching approaches, such as; experiential learning, cooperative learning, competency based learning, peer tutoring, team teaching and teaching to multiple intelligences.
