Attention staff and students – congratulations to the Buckeye Golden Guard and Indoor Percussion Ensemble for outstanding winter season. Both teams started their competitive seasons in November (as soon as marching band was over) and worked incredibly hard (between 6 and 15 hours a week) to represent BUHS well at each competition they went to. Their last competition of the season was the WGAZ Championships this past Saturday, April 1. Our Buckeye Golden Guard went to Highland High School and came in 8th place in the State in the Scholastic AA Division! They went into Saturday in 11th place and came out in 8th with a 10-point jump in their score since their last competition. They were very close to coming in 7th and grew a lot this season. Way to go, Guard! Our Buckeye Indoor Percussion Ensemble went to Desert Ridge and came in 4th place in the State in the Scholastic Regional A Division. They were VERY close to coming in top 3! BUHS should be very proud, especially since this was the very 1st year that BUHS had an indoor percussion group! Great job, percussion!
Attention staff and students – you are invited to celebrate the successful winter guard season with our guard and percussion TOMORROW NIGHT! They will be performing their shows for friends and family in the gym at 7 p.m. Please come out and support these talented students!
Attention staff and students – the music department and senior Jared Garcia are sponsoring a sock and blanket drive to benefit the Andre House in Phoenix.
