ANNOUNCEMENTS:
DRAMA CLUB: Come see “The Bank Robbery” and an adaptation of “The Fault in our Stars”. This double-feature will be performed February 11th, but students can watch a free showing Feb. 10th by presenting their ID. Performances begin at 7PM in the PAC.
TALENT SHOW: Have you got talent? Have you always wanted to share that talent? Auditions for the 7th Annual Youngker Talent Show will be February 17th and 18th.  Sign up outside Ms. Romito’s door, 2208, for the date you want to audition. See Ms. Romito, Mr. Hiatt or Coach York for more details.
ART CLUB: Art Club meets every Monday and Thursday. Come join us in the Art Rooms!
 
YOUTH FOR YOUTH: Are you success driven? Are you interested in building your leadership skills? If so, Youth for Youth may be the club for you. Come check it out in room 2202 after school every Wednesday.

E-SPORTS CLUB: Do you like competitive gaming? The YHS E- Sports club is now meeting in room 2120, Mr. VanAllsburg’s room, from 2:10 to 3pm every Wednesday. 

MTG (MAGIC THE GATHERING) CLUB: The MTG Club is looking for more members! Come check out a fun multiplayer strategy game you’ll love to play.  We meet every Wednesday after school in room 801. Thanks!
CULTURE CLUB: The next meeting of the Culture Club will be February 18th, at 6PM at Estrella Foothills. All signed up travelers are invited to come as well as any students still interested in signing up for our trip to the Mediterranean. We will be serving some delicious foods from the countries we’ll be visiting. Hope to see you there. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Romito or Ms. McDermott.

Help support the Freshman Student Council During lunch on Tuesday’s by bringing a couple extra dollars and enjoying a refreshing snow cone for dessert after your meal, or have your dessert first! 
TRACK: Attention all students, Track starts TODAY at 2:30 in the gym.  Make sure you go to the book store to get cleared! You can’t start until you are cleared!!!!  If you have any questions see Coach Becker in room 410 or Coach Thorpe in Room 2121
WRESTLING: Congratulations to Shane Cruz who placed 3rd in Sectional last week and will be going to STATE in Prescott with a 22-7 record!!!!!!!
SOFTBALL: Official tryouts for Softball will be TODAY from 3:00-5:30pm on the Varsity Softball field. Any girls trying out MUST be cleared by the Athletic office prior to that date and time. If you have questions about clearance please see Mrs. Garcia, Ms. Celaya and or Mr. Penunuri. 
TENNIS: Everyone trying out for tennis, boys and girls, please meet on the tennis courts after school today at 2:30.

SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: Attention any Sophomore or Junior that would be interested in a high energy Leadership program this summer at ASU please see Mr. Bryan in Guidance. The Cesar Chavez Leadership Institute will be offered this summer during the week of June 5th-11th with all expenses paid. This conference will be held at Arizona State University and is designed for the future leaders of our community.

YEARBOOK: It’s time to think about your future without forgetting your memories. Yearbooks are a good way to do that. The sale is almost over! They are only $70 until spring break, get them while they last. February 1st is your last day to buy yearbooks! You can purchase a yearbook at the book store or at both lunches. We will not be accepting any orders after February 1st.  

SENIORS: Seniors! It’s your time to shine, buy a senior ad and let it happen! See the bookstore or Mr. Kinney to purchase one quick! Email your pictures to Mr. Kinney at joe.kinney@buhsd.org as well as any questions you may have.

ALL STUDENTS: The deadline to apply for West-Mec is rapidly approaching. The deadline is January 22nd to apply online. If you have questions, please see Mr. Bryan in the Guidance Department or go to the West-Mec site on-line at www.west-mec.org for additional information.  Remember, Sophomores generally receive priority in program placements, but Juniors and Seniors can also apply and often are able to get in.
