BUHSD Update

BUHSD Families,

During the regularly scheduled monthly meeting last night, the BUHSD Governing Board voted to start second semester in Distance Learning modality for all students for the first two weeks of second semester.  This will allow for an isolation/quarantine period for all students and staff after winter break activities.  At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting in January, the Governing Board will revisit the topic of re-opening schools and make a decision on the learning modality that the District will continue with after those first two weeks.

To begin the semester on January 4th, all campuses will follow the Wednesday Late Start Schedule for that first day.  The campuses will then transition to a campus bell schedule that will provide a period in the regular school day for students to receive catch up opportunities and extra assistance.  Your student’s individual school will communicate the bell schedule to you prior to winter break.

Also, if you have not completed the survey for second semester that was sent out from your student’s school, please do so ASAP.  Knowing how many students will return to hybrid as soon as possible and how many will stay Distance Learning for the semester is vital in making decisions about re-opening in-person instruction.

Thank you for your support as we strive to provide our students with the best educational opportunities possible.

Sincerely,

Rob Roberson

Interim Superintendent
