As we end this week and start spring break, we want to remind you that if your student is currently in Option A and you would like to change your student’s learning environment for the final quarter of the school year (from Distance Learning to In-Person Learning or vice versa), you need to submit a Student Learning Environment Change Form ASAP. Please use the appropriate school link below to do so. If you do not submit a form, your student will remain in the learning environment in which he or she has been attending school since we re-opened for In-Person Learning on February 8th. For students currently in Option B doing coursework through Edgenuity, your student may continue to work on their courses through spring break to get caught up or work ahead.
Our current learning environment options, that include both In-Person and Distance Learning, are in compliance with the Executive Order to Re-Open Schools issued by Governor Ducey this week. The Order does provide some clarification on what would cause schools to be closed again. In the Order it states, “An individual district or charter school may only close if the local health department advises closing an entire charter or district school due to a significant outbreak of the COVID-19 virus that poses a risk to the students or staff and is approved for closure by the Arizona Department of Health Services.” With the Executive Order, it is no longer necessary for individual districts to continue monitoring the school re-opening dashboard on the county health website, so we will discontinue the weekly updates with the dashboard information and only send periodic updates if and when it is pertinent to do so.
As we progress through the last quarter of the school year, we ask that you mark your calendar for these important state-mandated testing dates:

April 6th: ACT Test for 11th Graders

April 13th: AzM2 Writing Test for 10th Graders

April 20th: AzM2 Reading Test for 10th Graders

April 21st: AzSci Field Test for 11th Graders

April 27th: AzM2 Math Test for 10th Graders
Your student’s school will provide more information on schedule modifications and other details for testing closer to the actual dates.
Our Governing Board will have a special meeting next Tuesday, March 9th, in which they will go into Executive Session to interview Superintendent candidates. The next regularly scheduled Governing Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 15th.
