Buckeye Union High School District is proud to recognize Cooper Holmes of Buckeye Learning Center and Mihai Popescu of Youngker High School for successfully graduating from the Threat Intelligence Support Unit (TISU) program hosted by Grand Canyon University in partnership with the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA).
The specialized cybersecurity program was completed through weekly evening sessions that combined classroom instruction with hands-on labs focused on threat intelligence and open-source intelligence (OSINT), a process used to gather and analyze publicly available information to identify potential cyber threats. Participants gained valuable experience in identifying, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
Adding to their achievement, Holmes and Popescu earned the two highest scores in their cohort, demonstrating exceptional skill, commitment, and dedication throughout the program.
Their accomplishment strengthens Buckeye Union High School District’s cybersecurity readiness and reflects the district’s continued investment in protecting school systems, technology infrastructure, and sensitive data. It also highlights the commitment of district staff members to ongoing professional growth and innovation in the field of information technology.
